Strawberry Sangria Salsa



1 cup fresh strawberries diced into small cubes

1 jalapeño pepper diced small (For less spice, use ½ bell pepper)

1 small onion

2 tbsp lime juice

Lime zest from 1 lime

4 large or 8 medium basil leaves chopped

1 tsp Kosher salt

¼ tsp pepper

½ tbsp olive oil

1 ½ tbsp rose wine




Rubber spatula

Medium bowl



Combine all ingredients into bowl and turn with spatula until thoroughly mixed.

Let sit at least 1 hour and mix again.

Serve over fish, pork or chicken,


With Benne wafers, fried plantain chips, sweet potato crackers, or Carolina white crackers
