Carolina Coast Creole Marinade

Try this slightly spicy creole marinade to add flavor and zing to your meat.
Ingredients
2 cups apple juice
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp butter
¼ cup fresh whole basil leaves
6 sprigs of fresh thyme
½ large onion
3 large cloves garlic
2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
Hardware
Butches twine
Medium pot
Rubber spatula
Directions
Tie basil leaves and thyme sprigs together with butchers twine.
Sauté onion and garlic in butter until onions begin to soften.
Add apple juice, then all other ingredients.
Simmer for 3 minutes covered.
Remove from heat and leave in pot until cooled.
Remove basil and thyme, shaking all juices from them into pot then discard.
Use marinade on chicken or pork, or put in refrigerator to reserve.
Use within 2 days.
