Torry's Boiled Peanuts

Use this boiled peanut recipe for a flavorful snack with a zing.

Ingredients

Soaking liquid

 

1 cup water

2 cans of beer (lager or pilsner)

2 tbsp hickory smoke marinade

3 tbsp apple cider vinegar

 

Boiling liquid

Cups water

2 strips bacon, each cut in quarters

1 cup onion, chopped

¼ cup garlic, chopped

2 tbsp black pepper

2 tbsp celery salt

2 tbsp paprika

½ tsp dry mustard

2 tbsp kosher salt

½ tbsp salt

 

Hardware

Large pot

Long stirring spoon

Large colander

 

Directions

Combine all the soaking liquid ingredients in the pot.

Bring to a boil.

Add peanuts.

Bring to a boil again then reduce heat to medium.

Simmer peanuts for 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and let soak for 45 minutes.

Remove peanuts from pot and drain soaking liquid.

Add all ingredients for cooking liquid in the pot.

Bring to a boil.

Add peanuts.

Bring to a low boil.

Boil for 4 hours or until peanuts are soft.
